The Fire

her gaze was drawn
the flashing colors
the shimmering heat
a sight quite like summer
floated before her
reminding her of the day
she had been lost in the embers
glowing still,
but ever cooling.
and then when she
found her way back
into his arms
she knew that the fire
had been kindled again.
